Turmeric is an herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family. It is grown in tropical Asia. It is hugely popular in India where it is an ingredient used in curries. Many recipes call for Saffron, but this herb is hugely expensive and so Turmeric has been used for centuries as a cheaper alternative. It was once know as “Indian Saffron”, which appears to get this distinction across.
The rhizomes or root stalks of Turmeric are boiled for hours and then dried in hot ovens. Once pounded down to make a deep orange powder the Turmeric that we recognize emerges. Its active ingredient is curcumin.
Curcumin is a powerful anti-oxidant which has been used medicinally in India for centuries. It is used in food because it is not only a tasty spice but from a more practical viewpoint it serves the purpose of an antiseptic and antibacterial agent. Curries had a purpose, especially in the days prior to refrigeration, many foods went bad quickly, the spices in curry disguised the taste. Spices like turmeric protected people from bacterial infections that would come as a result.
Turmeric has many health benefits. It is a liver detoxifier and a mighty anti-inflammatory agent. Inflammation is present when the body is fighting an infection. Its presence is really the key to heart disease and diabetes. Turmeric helps the body fight inflammation which is imperative for avoiding dangerous conditions. Note that arthritis is an inflammatory condition.
However, Turmeric’s real potency is its role in fighting cancer. Shane Ellison in his book “Over the Counter Natural Cures” calls it a chemotherapy agent. Everyone has cancer cells. But cancer becomes a problem only when those cells begin to proliferate out of control. All cancer cells are programmed to self-destruct. This immune-protective procedure is called “apoptosis”. It seems that the body replaces 1,000,000 cells per-second thanks to apoptosis. To trigger the mechanism we require specific nutrients. Appropriate weapons can be found in broccoli and green-tea, but the best of the bunch is turmeric. In the 1990s the University of Texas, Anderson Cancer Center described the affect “Indian Gold” had on tumor production as “staggering”. They found that it blocked the pathways that enhanced cancer growth. It seems the spice blocks “VEGF” or vascular endothelial growth factor. Lacking VEGF the cancer cells weaken and then implode upon themselves. The transcription factors in the cells are turned off and so the cancer cells subsequently die of their own accord. Why? It appears that transcription factors turn off the cells natural tendency to do away with themselves. Once you turn off the transcription factors then the cells natural tendency to self destruction is restored. Turmeric helps destroy cancer cells but it advantageously also promotes the growth of healthy cells.
Turmeric is available as a kitchen spice, but can be difficult to take in large quantities because it can cause indigestion. However, it is easily available in capsule form. The best way to take the capsule is with food. A review of Turmeric studies indicate a good maintenance dose would be in the region of 400 to 600 mgs per day. To ease the assimilation of the condiment it is a good idea to take it with a little olive or coconut oil. For cancer treatment the dose would be much larger. Take 0.05 mgs per kilo of body weight. If you weigh 70kgs then expect to take 3.5 Gms of Turmeric over the day. It seems that Turmeric causes few side effects, but as I said it can cause a little indigestion. The Linus Pauling Institute also mentions that Turmeric is contraindicated in cases of gallstones or of bile insufficiency.
There have been several studies that favorably propose Turmeric as a cancer fighter: see Dhandapani, Mahesh and Brann “Journal of Neurochemistry 2007 and the American Cancer Society’s Guidelines 2006.

A group of American scientists have just developed the first synthetic cell, made entirely in the laboratory! They call it Cynthia! What’s more the developers hail this discovery as the commencement of the third industrial revolution. This sounds strange, what do they mean? They don’t elaborate but I suspect this is a message telling us that this man made life form could somehow be “robotized” and we would then have a workforce of drones to do all the work. Indeed a shocking concept, where man is playing at God with the notion that all the bases are covered. Are they?
Most of the food supplements that we buy today are synthetic. When you see that your breakfast cereal has been fortified with essential vitamins and minerals, you can be 100% certain that these “supplements” are laboratory made. The pharmaceutical companies who manufacture most of this stuff tell you that these are natural life giving vitamins and mineral, but this is simply not true.
Organic Chemists, who staff the pharmaceutical industry, talk about organic in a very different way to a nutritionist or natural health practitioner. In organic chemistry the term indicates that the substance in question originated from a life form because it has an assortment of carbon and hydrogen atoms arranged in a hexane ring. The molecules themselves are made from diatoms. These tiny amoebae like creatures came together and eventually gave birth to all the petroleum on the planet. Although oil is derived from a living mass, this mass lived a very long time ago. Besides who in their right minds would want to sit down and drink gasoline, for example? Organic chemists think this is perfectly all right and base many of their pharmaceutical products on derivatives from the oil industry. The same goes for minerals. Shellfish dead for millions of years decompose to form limestone. The argument is this is a good source of calcium.
Nutritionists on the other hand say that for a vitamin or mineral to be classified as organic it must be properly assimiable to the human body. It must come from a recently living source and have passed through the photosynthesis process, because then the body can absorb it and use it accordingly. The same group also talk about organic foods, but that is another subject. Organic fruit, vegetables and meats have to be grown in a natural environment without being subjected to artificial fertilizers and pesticides.
Tests have shown that synthetic vitamins and minerals lack the life force present in the non-synthetic organic equivalents. Kirlian photography demonstrates that pictures of synthetic compared to non-synthetic food sources are very different. A chromatogram will show you the typical rings of ascorbic acid (synthetic vitamin C) are perfectly regular but to be biologically active a substance has to have intrinsic factors, an irregular shape and strong radiations.
During the Korean War American prisoners of war often died of the tropical disease called beriberi. The Red Cross recommended that the prisoners receive Thiamine (Vitamin B1) as a supplement to protect them from the disease. They issued a synthetic form of the vitamin. It simply didn’t work. The problem was solved by the prisoners themselves who started to eat the husk of the rice ration. This contained Thiamine from a living source and the scourge of beriberi was abated.
To be health effective we must really choose a nutrition supplement that comes from a natural source. It seems that synthetic substances are considerably less effective and in some cases downright harmful. If this is the case of synthetic food substances what do you suppose is going to happen to synthetic life forms? Isn’t it time we stopped playing God, because we really do not understand what forces we're are unleashing.

5 lessons about the way we treat people
1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor
Gave us a pop quiz I was a conscientious student
And had breezed through the questions until I read
The last one:
"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the
Cleaning woman several times. She was tall,
Dark-haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name?
I handed in my paper, leaving the last question
Blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if
The last question would count toward our quiz grade.
"Absolutely, " said the professor. "In your careers,
You will meet many people. All are significant.. They
Deserve your attention and care, even if all you do
Is smile and say "hello."
I've never forgotten that lesson.. I also learned her
Name was Dorothy.
2. - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain
One night, at 11:30 P.M., an older African American
Woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway
Trying to endure a lashing rain storm. Her car had
Broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally
Unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960's. The man
Took her to safety, helped her get assistance and
Put her into a taxicab.
She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his
Address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a
Knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a
Giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A
Special note was attached.
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway
The other night. The rain drenched not only my
Clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
Husband's' bedside just before he passed away... God
Bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving
Mrs. Nat King Cole.
3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those
In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less,
A 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and
Sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in
Front of him.
"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and
Studied the coins in it.
"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired.
By now more people were waiting for a table and the
Waitress was growing impatient.
"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.
The little boy again counted his coins.
"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said...
The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on
The table and walked away The boy finished the ice
Cream, paid the cashier and left.. When the waitress
Came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the
Table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish,
Were two nickels and five pennies..
You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had
To have enough left to leave her a tip.
4 - Fourth Important Lesson. - The obstacle in Our Path...
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a
Roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if
Anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the
King's' wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by
And simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the
King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did
Anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of
Vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the
peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the
stone to the side of the road. After much pushing
and straining, he finally succeeded. After the
peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed
a purse lying in the road where the boulder had
been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note
from the King indicating that the gold was for the
person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The
peasant learned what many of us never understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve
5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts...
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who
was suffering from a rare & serious disease. Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood
transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had
miraculously survived the same disease and had
developed the antibodies needed to combat the
illness. The doctor explained the situation to her
little brother, and asked the little boy if he would
be willing to give his blood to his sister.
I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will save
her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed
next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing
the color returning to her cheek. Then his face
grew pale and his smile faded.
He looked up at the doctor and asked with a
trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her.

So far we have seen that statin drugs are not the answer to purportedly enhanced cholesterol levels. So what is the answer? How do we avoid heart disease and strokes?
• If you are a smoker, stop!
• Escape from the homocystine trap. Homocystine according to a report published by the American College of Cardiology in 2006 is a key factor in heart attacks and strokes.
• In healthy individuals, homocystine, itself a product of amino acid metabolism, is easily converted to harmless methionine. But in less healthy cases the situation is very different.
• Homocystine can create havoc in the Cardio-Vascular system. Why? It likes collagen. Collagen plays an important role in healing and re-building tissue. The key here is inflammation.
• Homocystine builds up in inflammatory sites because of its affinity to collagen. This can lead to a narrowing or even blocking of arteries. Here’s the danger.
The Solution: Folic acid, part of the B vitamin group, is the answer to this problem. Folic acid aids in the conversion of homocystine to methionine. It is found in most if not all multi-vitamin formulations. Even the British Medical Journal pointed out that a small drop in homocystine levels lessened the chance of a heart attack by 15% and a stroke by 24%. An optimistic Chinese study had these levels at a staggering 60%.
How to increase folic acid levels?
• The first step is to increase the intake of alkaline rich green leafy vegetables. You need at least five servings per day.
• Decrease the consumption of wine.
• Stop taking over the counter medications like analgesics (aspirin, ibuprofen, birth control pills, etc).
• If you are on anti-diabetic, anti-convulsant and anti-psychotic drugs, rest assured your homocystine levels are too high. You will need to supplement.
All vitamins are not the same. Pharmaceutical companies would have us believe that synthetic vitamins and minerals are just
the same as naturally occurring substances. This is not true. It will also provide the basics for another set of blogs on this site at a later date.
Brewer’s yeast has been around for years. It was proved to be the answer to anemia as long ago as 1931. This is the best source of naturally occurring B Vitamins, including Folic Acid. The dose needs to be in the region of 400mgs per day and it should be taken with meals for maximum effectiveness.

Cholesterol has a very important function in the body. It acts like Elastoplasts or a Band Aid. When there is an injury, cholesterol rushes to the site of the damage. It coats the injured area in an emergency protective layer. This is the same as when you cut yourself. You apply a Band Aid as a protective covering that keeps dirt and bacteria away from the wound and this protection is the first step in the healing process.
Cholesterol gives a protective covering to the injury and then collagen and other re-building blocks come along and start the healing process. Interestingly, cholesterol is transported to the emergency site by LDL, or low density lipoprotein. In tests to determine cholesterol levels, LDL is labeled as the bad guy. The picture is a little out of focus here! Yes, blood fats can be factor in cardiovascular disease, but to label LDL as villain of the piece is bit like blaming the ambulance for the accident. Conversely, HDL, or high density lipoprotein is put in the role of the hero. HDL is simply transportation medium. It takes the cholesterol back to the liver after it has completed its task at the wound site. When it comes to cholesterol the real issue is the size of the molecule. Both HDL and LDL cholesterol molecules are very large, carbon-hydrogen-oxygen chains containing 27 carbon atoms, 46 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. However, the size of the molecules can vary. This is an artery clogging danger area, but as far as I know there is no test that distinguishes between the two.
As an emergency protection device, cholesterol levels will rise after an injury. If you go to the dentist and have a tooth extracted, your cholesterol levels will increase as it goes off to heal the cavity or if you fall down and cut yourself the same thing will occur. If there is inflammation, a cut or extracted tooth causes inflammation. This is the body’s attempt to heal itself. However, there are cases of chronic inflammation where the body is striving to heal or rid itself of an infection over a protracted period of time. Chronic inflammation can be caused by a host of differing reasons, but the upshot is that cholesterol plays an important part in the healing of inflammation. If the inflammation is not healed, and simply persists, then cholesterol levels will increase. To address the issue you have to go and heal the inflammation once and for all. If an injury is slow to heal, your cholesterol levels will be elevated. It is then a good idea to take supplements to help the immune system do its work properly. The supplementation issue is a thorny one, and one day we will take a look at it, but my suggestion would be to take a powerful anti-oxidant and overall detoxer like Alpha-Lipoic Acid with Co-Enzyme Q10 to give the overloaded liver a helping hand. I would add to this some natural Vitamin C. No ascorbic acid is not natural. It’s made in the lab!
There is, however, a condition that gives rise to continuing inflammation and prevents the body from healing itself. It is this which more often than not is the root cause of elevated cholesterol levels, and that ignored substance is insulin. Yes, elevated insulin levels are the root cause of chronic inflammation. Poor diet, and too little exercise are causing more and more people to become resistant to the storage hormone insulin. This condition causes weight gain, high blood pressure and late onset diabetes. It is blood sugar an insulin levels that are the principal cause of heart disease and not cholesterol. This is where you need to go to answer the thorny question of hypercholesterolemia. That comes in a later blog.

I see many people who are completely caught up in the whole cholesterol saga.
"I have been on a statin drug since I was 9 years old!"
"My cholesterol count is 225, but my Dr. tells me that it has to come down to 175." And so on and on.
Most people do not understand the first thing about cholesterol and by the same token it seems that most medical professionals don't either. Thia is a case where marketing has taken over from science and basic common sense. Cholesterol is made in the liver and it is a vital ingredient for overall well being. By decreasing cholesterol values you are working to undermine good health and not increase it.
Cholesterol is not a poison
* cholesterol is one of the most important molecules in the body.
* cholesterol makes hormones, including sex hormones
* cholesterol is produced by the liver and working with the liver it produces bile.
* cholesterol is vital for digestion
* cholesterol interlocks lipid molecules which stabilise cell membranes
* cholesterol is a vital building block for cell generation.
* Lowering cholesterol causes the body to fall apart.
* The real problem is inflammation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* Cholesterol lowering drugs are a scam which undermine the health of the population
* This is another example where marketing takes over and gives rise to bad science. Oh, cholesterol participates in the manufacture of sex hormones, thus if you decrease cholesterol levels you will find your libido beginning to droop, too. Is it worth it? To find out more tune in to this blog for the next episode in the cholesterol myth.

That’s Not My Job!
"This is a story about four people named: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done t, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody’s job.
Everybody and Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done."

CoRe stands for coincidence recognition. It is an integrated and highly customized information and energy medicine device. It works because it is computer generated. Effectively the heart of CoRe is a holographic random number generator. This tosses into the air, thousand of resonance possibilities. These patterns are contrasted against the personal experiences of a given individual. Call this person the client or patient. In this comparison random events give way to patterns. Nothing is significant unless it is repeated and forms such a pattern. It is a bit like Lorenz’s “Butterfly”, in which seemingly random weather events were able to produce a very definite and discernible pattern, which in this case resembled a butterfly. These informational patterns are compared against the symptom picture of the client/patient and like the butterfly something discernible and palpable emerges.
When we examine dis-ease states, symptoms fist appear in an unpredictable and seemingly random manner. German physicist originator of the CoRe system describes this as DLE or “Dynamic Labile Equilibrium”. Once the symptoms become deeper rooted they become more predictable. In essence they stabilize in the mind body mix and emerge as conditions such as high blood pressure, hypothyroid conditions and a myriad of other symptomologial patterns. Once they begin to root themselves in this way, they become more difficult to reverse. This is on of the criticisms of modern allopathic medicine. Tests only reveal a condition when it has anchored itself in the body-mind. For this to occur the condition has to be quite advanced.
In Kinesiolgy, the testing procedure developed by chiropractors, which depends on muscle testing as the testing medium. The muscle either tests strong or weak. A weak response indicates a problem that has been detected by the unconscious mind. The CoRe on the other hand can perform the equivalent of several thousand muscle tests in a few brief moments. In Kinesiolgy such a batchoif tests would require hours and hors of tedious repetition. Thus we see that CoRe is an informational tool devoted to making some sort of sense of the healing process,
We need to interpret the information thrown up by the Core analysis according to the operator’s own field of expertise. This can be nutritional, homeopathic, allopathic, psychological, chiropractic or whatever. CoRe is like the oracle. The system presents the information and the operator interprets the information according to his/her own specialty. Once an informational picture has emerged the system can then be used as an effective healing tool. It is not a medical device but it elicits healing informationally, energetically, vibrationally, auditorally or even by means of colour and light. This is a truly holistic approach to eliminating symptoms and dis-ease states. It is one of the most advanced biofeedback tools, which works under the aegis of bio-resonance technology available today. CoRe offers the power of radionics broadcasts that can work long distance. It heals by producing vibrational frequencies within the Royal Rife and Hulda Clark spectrum. Hand held electrodes expose the client/patient to the healing vibrations of the frequencies. It can also be used to facilitate EMDR psychological clearing in a powerful, effective and swift way. As an informational tool CoRe can evaluate such diverse problems as food intolerances, nutritional deficiencies, levels of toxicity and homeopathic requirements amongst a host of other possibilities. Moreover, the device can also imprint information so as to make remedies in much ate same way as homeopathics are produced.
Anyone contemplating a programme that necessities healing such as detox or fasting would be well advised to experience a CoRe session before commencing and after completing to get the very best out of their healing experience. Alister Bredee is a Wellness Consultant with over a quarter of a century of experience. He can offer CoRe sessions and provide many of the remedies revealed by the protocol.

IF YOU REALLY LOVE A PERSON you will never encroach on his or her freedom. That is the ONLY indication of your love. Your love can be proved only by one thing: how much freedom you are giving to the other -- even the freedom to love others. That is the ONLY indication of your love.
THE MORE LOVE YOU GIVE, THE MORE YOU WILL HAVE -- because by giving, your love starts flowing. It may have been dormant, stagnant; by sharing, it starts flowing. It is like drawing water from a well: the moment you start to draw water, from hidden springs more water starts coming to fill the space. If you don't draw the water from the well, the water will become dirty; it may even become poisonous. And the springs will not be used; they will become blocked. If you go on drawing water every day, more and more water will be flowing in the well, and the springs will become bigger because they will be used more.
But people live in the outside economics even in their inner life. THE WIFE BECOMES VERY ANGRY if she finds her husband just being friendly with another woman. The husband becomes aggressive, jealous, if he finds that his wife was having a good time with somebody else, just enjoying, laughing. This is sheer stupidity! It is not understanding the inner world and the inner meta-economics. He is still thinking in terms of money -- that if his wife has laughed with somebody else that means she will not be able to laugh with him any more; so much laughter is lost! Now he is a loser, and of course that creates anger.
In fact, IF THE WIFE DOES NOT LAUGH WITH MANY PEOPLE, does not enjoy friendship, is not loving to many people, her love sources will die; she will not be able to love her husband either. She will forget how to love, her springs will go dry.
That's why you see husbands and wives looking so sad and bored with each other, it is bound to happen. They are going against a natural inner law: YOU HAVE MORE, THE MORE YOU GIVE. Giving does not destroy anything in you; in fact it is creative. The person who loves many people will be able to love his wife or her husband more totally.
BUT HUMANITY HAS NOT UNDERSTOOD this simple phenomenon even yet. We are still behaving in a very childish and stupid way. It is as if your wife says, "You breathe only when I am there, and when I am not there stop breathing -- because so much breath will be lost, so much life will be lost. And when you come home and you have been breathing in every place, everywhere, you will be almost dead! So when I am not with you, stop breathing!" And the husband insists also that, "When I am not at home, you stop breathing -- so that when we are together great breathing happens!" But both will die!
THAT'S HOW WE HAVE KILLED LOVE IN THE WORLD. We have killed everything valuable, because our whole logic is stupid. It is good that the husband goes for a morning walk and breathes in the fresh air, jogs and runs on the beach, and enjoys the sun. And the wife also goes and enjoys the flowers and the trees and the grass. And when they come together, they will be able to be more alive with each other, more loving to each other. They will be at their peak; they will be full of life-juices to share. But this has not happened yet.
JEALOUSY KILLS LOVE, POSSESSIVENESS KILLS LOVE. Be non-jealous if you want great love to happen; if you want your life to grow multidimensionally, it needs freedom. You need freedom, and the person you love needs freedom. In freedom only there is expansion, growth.
Albert Einstein discovered that the universe is continuously growing and expanding. Five thousand years before Albert Einstein, the Upanishads were saying the same thing. The name they gave to the universe, "brahmand", means that which goes on expanding, which is continuously growing. There is no end to that growth, no limit to that growth. A meditator has to live his life in such a way that everything goes on growing, expanding, without any limit. Your love, your joy, your silence, your life -- EVERYTHING SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GROW. And it can happen only if you allow the same to others.
But what we have been doing for thousands of years is just the opposite: we encroach on each other's territory, WE DESTROY EVERYBODY'S SPACE IN THE NAME OF LOVE, in the name of friendship. We use beautiful words to hide ugly realities.
IF YOU REALLY LOVE A PERSON, you will allow all the space possible to the person; you will never encroach on his or her freedom. That is the ONLY indication of your love. And the miracle is, the more we allow each other to love as many people as possible, you will find the person infinitely loving towards you -- because love is not money, love is not a commodity. It is an inner energy which grows by sharing, which dies by not sharing.
